Maison Artemisia

A Classic of la Roma, and opened since 2013 behind an unassuming entrance in Roma Norte, this bar feels intimate, slightly old world, and quietly self assured. Absinthe is the house specialty, and few places in Mexico City treat it with the same care, from the selection itself to the classic service around it; Artemisia even produces its absinthe Superfina and some other exclusive spirits with their microdistillery. Even if you usually order something else, the French leaning spirit list, a well curated Agave selection, well made classic cocktails and a creative section of signature cocktails, give the room a clear point of view. It is worth coming for a drink that feels a little more distinctive than usual, in a setting that stays refined without becoming stiff.
